Bandung Waterfall
Another beautiful waterfall in Gianyar
While traveling to the well-known Suwat Waterfall farther up the road, you will pass the signs for Bandung Waterfall, which is immediately to the north of the municipality of Gianyar. This is exactly how we discovered it, and making the brief trip to have a look was worthwhile.
Bandung Waterfall's admission fee is only a contribution of 10k Rupiah, as is customary for the most of the area's lesser-known waterfalls. The walk in just takes about 5 minutes, and you can hear the Falls right from the entrance gate.
Since the top of the falls sees water rushing down a long, wide concrete ramp before hitting the tops of the falls itself, it appears that these falls are man-made.
They eventually run out through a small canyon after cascading down a rather low (for Bali) drop. The variety of available vistas at Bandung Waterfall, however, sets it apart from other waterfalls. To help people get from one perspective to the next, a number of bamboo bridges have been built. More recently, though, work on concrete platforms at the most well-liked photo spots has also started.
View the Falls from the very top, looking directly down upon them from above, or through a tiny opening in the canyon aptly named "Vagina Falls." However, if you quickly look around the rocks just in front of the Falls, you can locate a short stairway that leads down into the rock for a different viewpoint. In the canyon, standing in front of them while taking in the whole spray as it hits the rocks at your feet, is what you will achieve if you follow this.
