Panglipuran Traditional Village

a village of back to nature and ancestor reminder

Panglipuran village is a lovely highland village in East Bali's Bangli region, recognized for its well-preserved layout and culture. While the majority of its occupants have accepted modernity, the individual compounds have been meticulously maintained to maintain their medieval appearance. The solitary stone-paved lane that runs through the heart of the town, leading to the local temple, is lined with well-kept gardens, and each house is hidden behind age-old arched entrance gates and walls.
Penglipuran village has evolved into a community-based tourism destination throughout time. To enter the town, you'll need to purchase a ticket, and some inhabitants have stores inside their homes. The town, which is conveniently located along the same route as the beautiful rim of Mount Batur crater and the settlement of Kintamani, is a highlight for visits to the island's eastern section.

Penglipuran village has a lot to offer visitors.
Penglipuran village, located roughly 700 meters above sea level and spanning over 100 hectares, provides a calm mountain atmosphere. Bamboo trees (with popular trekking and mountain biking trails), agriculture, and the main village neighborhood site are all worth visiting. The magnificent Pura Desa (village temple) at the end of the stone road is well worth a visit, with its remarkable elemental architecture. You'll be greeted by pleasant residents who are usually willing to tour you around their compound if you enter through the arched gates of any of the residences. The ancient kitchens are covered with soot from the billowing wood-fire hearths, and the compounds are each built out differently, each following classic Balinese spatial and architectural standards. The Galungan day celebrations, which take place every 6 months, are one of the greatest times to visit Penglipuran hamlet because magnificent penjor are erected in front of each house and line the street, producing a spectacular scene.
