Tegenungan Waterfall is a terrific attraction for nature enthusiasts vacationing in Ubud or visiting nearby Sukawati. The waterfall is located midway between Ubud and Denpasar, Bali's provincial capital. It is the closest natural attraction of its kind within a half-hour drive southeast of Ubud center.
You can stroll down to the broad pebbly base and have a dip in the plunge pool, however this is not recommended after heavy rains because flash floods are a possibility. There are restaurants here that provide delicious local delicacies including the characteristic Balinese-style crispy fried duck and are good places to visit before or after visiting Tegenungan Waterfall.

It's a pleasant journey to the falls through paved village roads with stretches of green rice fields on both sides. You'll enter the parking and entry after reaching the end of the road, with ticket booths in front. This street is lined with art galleries and souvenir shops, as well as modest local warung vendors providing snacks and cool beverages.
The falls are just a few minutes' walk beyond the shops, where you may take in the stunningly green valley view with the cascading water as the focal point. The falls are framed by dense greenery, and the water volume is remarkable at any time of year, but it is usually at its peak during the rainy season (October to April).
