Ubud

Calmly, Serenity, tranquillity being fused with art, culture and nature

In many respects, Ubud is Bali's cultural center. This quaint country town features royal palaces and historic temples and is home to one of Bali's royal dynasties. Some of the world's most famous artisans and collectors have visited and worked there. Hundreds of art studios and galleries line the main street, as well as a fantastic local crafts market selling antiques, woodcarvings, crafts, textiles, paintings, and jewelry.
Tegenungan Waterfall, Ubud Monkey Forest, and the beautiful Tegallalang rice terrace are all within a short drive of Ubud. Take a day excursion to one of the local villages, such as Campuhan, Penestanan, Peliatan, or Batuan, to witness how locals make and sell unique Balinese products.
Exploring ancient temples, stately royal palaces, and lush hillsides and rice terraces are among the greatest things to do in Ubud. This Balinese town and its environs inside the Gianyar district are a treasure mine of cultural landmarks where some of the world's most notable artisans and collectors have visited and worked.
The main Jalan Raya Ubud is home to the majority of the local museums and galleries. Within a short drive of the town center, there are numerous natural landscapes and attractions. The Ubud Monkey Forest and the beautiful Tegallalang rice terrace are two prominent and obvious attractions in Ubud.

Ubud Monkey Forest
Ubud Monkey Army Sanctuary
Over 700 grey long-tailed macaques live in the Ubud Monkey Forest. This natural sanctuary, also known as Padangtegal's Sacred Monkey Grove, features paved roads through a green nutmeg forest as well as numerous old temples hidden behind dense foliage. Because of its community-based management, location, and accessibility of access, it is a popular wildlife reserve in Bali.
Ubud Royal Palace ( Puri Saren Agung )
Royal Palace and a Cultural Repository.
Puri Saren Agung is the Ubud royal family's palace, and it is one of the city's most visible monuments. It is a cultural center for the arts, dancing, and literature. The palace's stage and meeting halls hold international events, such as the annual Ubud Writers & Readers Festival's opening ceremonies. The palace was established during the reign of Tjokorda Putu Kandel (1800–1823), and features well-preserved Balinese architecture and a lovely garden setting. During the day, the front section of the palace is open to the public, including walkthroughs and photo opportunities.
Ubud Art Market
Beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, statues, kites, handcrafted woven bags, baskets, or caps, and many other hand-crafted things may be found at the Ubud Art Market. The market, known locally as Pasar Seni Ubud, is located just across from the Puri Saren Royal Ubud Palace and is open daily. Pengosekan, Tegallalang, Payangan, and Peliatan are the villages that produce the majority of the commodities sold at the Ubud Market. The Ubud Art Market is a vital purchasing area for Balinese handicrafts and souvenirs because of its position, which is centrally located amid the art producing villages and in the heart of Ubud. The Ubud market was also the backdrop for a sequence in the Hollywood film Eat Pray Love, in which Julia Roberts plays a female character meandering around the stalls, which are frequented by both international and local visitors in real life. Bargaining is, of course, necessary.
Tjampuhan Ridge Walk
a beautiful hill which will make you fall in love
Tjampuhan Ridge Walk, or Bukit Cinta as the locals name it, translates to "Love Hill" and is a great spot to walk, jog, or even picnic. The entrance to this stroll, which is set among Ubud's gorgeous jungle and trees, is only 100 meters from our restaurant. Because there is little shade during the day, we recommend going early in the morning or later in the day. This hike is our favorite because of its natural splendor.
